A lot of people think that the good way to reduce crime is to give longer prison sentences, whereas other believe that there are more ways to reduced crimes. This essay will discuss both the views and then I will elaborated on my opinion. To commence with, to reduce crime government made many laws and in many countries there is no crime because of their strict rules. For instances, North Korea, Dubai, these countries are crime free nations. People have fear of these countries law. In many countries people believe that longer prison sentences is the best way to declined the crime and they get imprisonment for a long time. Some time, some crime happens because for their family. Such as, if the person is very poor they do not have food for their family than they do some crimes but they do crimes because they do not have any choice. If they get longer prison sentences, it is not good for their family. Secondly, some people think that for reducing crimes longer imprisonment is not a good choice. However, the punishment should be given to the bases of the crime. Like, if some one do murder, longer prisonment or even many more punishment is right for that person. And if other person who stole something to feed her family longer imprisonment is not a good choice. They can give any other punishment or a day prison. Moreover, every country should take strict action if it is a small crime because if government take strict action towards people then people feel fare and then crime will automatically reduced. In conclusion, every person get the punishment of their crime on the basis of which crime the person do and also make strict law that people fear them. According to my opinion, longer imprisonment is not a good choice for a small crimes because sometimes people already know what they did wrong and he/she wants to become a good person again and they want to do a good work for the society but they cannot do because of their imprisonment. Then it was better to give different punishment or imprisonment for a few days or a year.
