IN AN INCREASINGLY MODERNIZED AND GLOBALIZED WORLD, IT IS INEVITABLE THAT TRADITIONAL COOKING WILL BE REPLACED BY FAST FOOD AND INTERNATIONAL DISHES

IN AN INCREASINGLY MODERNIZED AND GLOBALIZED WORLD, IT IS INEVITABLE THAT TRADITIONAL COOKING WILL BE REPLACED BY FAST FOOD AND INTERNATIONAL DISHES KDOB6
As we move into the new millennium, it is said that there are no longer any typical meals, and junk food, global cuisines will reclaim their roles. My argument can be a form of disagreeing with this notion. Admittedly, today, fast food and foreign cuisines are becoming increasingly widely known throughout the world. Firstly, it is true that junk food and international food are more fascinating and incredibly new for the majority of individuals. Using local cuisine as an example, those who eat it everyday may acquire a feeling of boredom. As a consequence, people have a tendency to prefer processed food and national dishes since they are more various. And so they introduce diners to new flavors. Secondly, due to globalization and the influence of the media, junk food and global cuisines may now more effectively approach and attract people through a variety of social platforms, mainly among youths. This is obvious when McDonald’s is imported to Vietnam and grabs the majority of young adults’ attention. As a result, teenagers choose fast food from certain well-known brands rather than typical meals. However, eating fast food and other foreign cuisines is only a new experience, and traditional food cannot be displaced by them. First of all, home-cooked food is always more nutritious than junk food does. Due to the fact that there are still many people concerning about their health, they place a high priority on having meals that are both fresh and nutritious. Furthermore, since humans are so creative, they might customize local dishes to suit their own tastes and create new variations of them. For example, by combining Vietnamese food, which is pho, with their burger, McDonald’s advertises their brand and attracts Vietnamese to taste their product, but the traditional cuisine continues to exist in the contemporary world and cannot be eliminated. In conclusion, even though being new and fascinating, fast food and foreign cuisines can never completely replace local food  since they are only current trends.
