Some people think that older school children should learn a wide range of subjects to acquire more knowledge, while other people believe they should learn a small number of subjects in details. VDjnD
Many people hold the view that children at school should study a large number of subjects to obtain more knowledge whereas others argue that they should concentrate on learning a few subjects in details. My essay will analyze both sides of this issue.
On the one hand, it assists children to discover a variety of domains. Students may both recognize their strengths or weaknesses in each discipline and identify the suitable subject for them throughout the learning process. As the result, it enables them to make correct decisions regarding their careers as they have a better understanding of their interests. Moreover, learning a variety of subjects enhances a student’s integral development. For example, to become an architect not only understand mathematics and physics well to measure accurately but also should study the arts to develop creative thinking skills.
On the other hand, there are certain benefits to studying a few subjects. Firstly, children who learn a certain subject can choose their desired college or career more easily than others. They have more time to practice and gain an insight into their field so that they can acquire more expert knowledge and specialized skills to become a professional in their domain in the future. For instance, because doctors are required to be good at Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology, they don't need to spend excessive time studying irrelevant disciplines. Secondly, it alleviates academic pressures on students. They may are neither submitted to knowledge overloaded nor learning spirit. As the result, it assists students to study well and enhance their academic performance. Furthermore, children have time to relieve stress such as playing sports or taking a rest after tiring hours of study. It helps them have spiritual comfort and recharge their energy so that they can study more effectively.
To sum up, I believe that children should spend more time learning a few subjects so that they be well-prepared for a certain future path rather than spending time studying a wide range of subjects.
