In today’s modern world, advanced technology has led to computers becoming cheaper than before. Therefore, nowadays both employees and students work and study from home. From my perspective, I think this trend has beneficial and detrimental impacts.
I can understand the reasons why nowadays some people go for work or study in their own home. Chief of these could be that they do not need to go to the office or school. By this way, workers and students can save time and the cost of travelling. This means that they can avoid traffic problems such as accidents and traffic congestion. Therefore, working and studying from home are extremely convenient for learners and employees. In addition, students could learn with qualified and experienced teachers in other cities or all around the world. This leads to the fact that learners may acquire more knowledge of various academic fields. As for workers, they can arrange their schedule in a flexible way. This means that they will have more time to relax with their family and friends, which could help them relieve pressure after a stressful day more easily. The result of this could be that it is easier for employees to gain promotion and go forward on their career ladder.
However, this trend still has some detrimental impacts. Firstly, working and studying from home could face many technical issues like Internet interruption or computer problems, which can interfere with their work and even reduce their yield in the process of studying or working. Furthermore, in the area of education, teachers have difficulty keeping the track of their students’ learning process. This means that they can find it hard to timely support students who do not understand lessons. As a consequence, learners may lose motivation to pursue studying and even drop out of school. Moreover, the trend of working from home can lead to lack of direct interaction and communication between colleagues which can create misunderstandings and conflicts and affect their work productivity directly.
In conclusion, in today’s society, there are a lot of workers and students who choose to work and learn from home because technological devices are cheaper and more available than before. From my perspective, I think that this trend has both advantages and disadvantages.
