I was born in a small village surrounded by tea gardens near Silchar, Assam. At the mere age of 7, I was sent to a boarding school in Dehradun and today when I look back at it I feel blessed that my parents had taken this hard decision. This decision has significantly changed my life and for this reason today I have come this far in life. It has helped me to have a better outlook of the outside world. Last year, a few months before the CAT 2021 exam one fine day I went out of my rented apartment to the market to bring some stuff. On returning I found out that my laptops were missing both my personal and the one provided from the office. I rushed to the owner to inform him about the incident and then I went to the police station to report the incident. The police took the matter so lightly that to file an FIR, took me almost 20 days. During that course of time, I had to regularly visit the Police station and sit hours after hours just to listen come tomorrow. While returning to my flat I used to be very frustrated and feel very low not because my things were stolen but it was due to how the police were treating me and my case. This affected my preparation as for those 20 days I hardly studied anything. All my time was spent sitting in the police station just to get the FIR copy. And the results of those unutilized 20 days can be seen in my CAT 2021 score. One thing that I am proud to say is that I didn’t bribe the officer to get the work done. And that situation taught me that perseverance and intent always pay off.
