While some advocate the idea that having job satisfaction is of paramount importance for one’s individual well-being, others dismiss it and claimed that job security is a vital point to consider. Both sides of the argument present rational ideas, which will be elaborated. On the one hand, supporters of the job satisfaction assert that the benefits accruing from it are by no means negligible. To begin with, high- level of an employee’s productivity is associated with job contentment. That is to say, the people who spend their whole time with friendly colleagues in a pleasant working atmosphere is apparently more likely to develop a sense of job satisfaction as well as will be more motivated to climb the career ladder. This in turn will positive impacts on the quality of work as well as the progress of a company. Moreover, workers with job satisfaction take advantage of health benefits. In other words, when individuals take jobs that not only are suited with their skills, but also are completely proper with their personality lead to contentment. This in turn will stay mind healthier and help people to be more successful in their personal and professional life. On the other hand, others put forward the argument that job security overrides the importance of job satisfaction. The most compelling reason justifying this assertion is that earning constant salary is an utmost priority of every person in daily life. To put it differently, meeting family member’s needs, paying mortgages, bills and everyday living costs are of much greater concern for people. Therefore, having a permanent job and assurance of receiving a certain income gives to people a sense of fulfilled as well as happiness. To conclude, there are logical points on both sides. I am of the opinion that job satisfaction is of vital importance to every individual’s health as well as for the survival of companies.
