Ever since the first plane took off, travelling has been truly revolutionized. There are opinions that with the emergence of budget flights, more people can gain access to oversea travel. But there are also people who believe it poses negative affects. While both views hold true to certain extent, I believe consumers have to be logical in how much they're willing to compromise for a plane ticket. In the past, travelling by plane was viewed as a luxury and many residents couldn't afford such expenditure. Hence, the introduction of budget ticket has widened the options for consumers, especially those living on a budget who weren't interested in international travel at first. This, in turn, helps airlines companies to sell more tickets and expands their target audiences. But cheap tickets can also mean a rather uncomfortable experience for this other end of customers. In the process of lowering the prices to appeal to economical travellers, companies have to double the seats, cut back meals and remove any amenities passengers would normally have. This results in somewhat an undesirable experience. And if the prices were lowered any further, the profits wouldn't be enough to cover maintenance, which might lead to unfortunate airborne accidents. Overall, whether you are for or against economical tickets, it is true that cheap tickets provide many benefits for the working class members of our society. But the responsibility lies with the travellers as well as the airline companies to agree upon a reasonable price, considering both experience and safety.
