Perception of the culture, when travelling abroad, is a powerful tool of communication. However, this fact has still neglected. This essay will discuss benefits of understanding other lifestyle and drawbacks of incomprehension.
Firstly, it is no sensible to deny the importance of understanding a new culture. In other words, awareness of traditions and somehow laws will help to both avoid violating local taboos and approach the local people's life. Take for example the Central Asian countries, it is par for the course to champ while meal, since it is a sign of gratitude and deliciousness of the food.
Secondly, for executives who want to run a successful business in another country should be aware of trends and interests of people in host country. For instance, a person ignorant of the culture of Singapore is going to start importing soda and sweets, including chewing gum. He will not even be able to start his own business, since in Singapore chewing gum has been taboo from 1992.
Understanding different cultures, by and large, helps not only to make friends but also to benefit for traders in a foreign country. From my point of view, getting more information about other cultures in advance is an invaluable benefit for tourists.
