It is irrefutable fact that, many educational institutions assess pupil’s knowledge by taking exams and tests from them. Benefits and some downsides of this tendency will be discussed in the following paragraphs. Firstly, taking exams is a good approach for making pupils study, as they motivate students to take the education seriously. For example, many pupils realize that in case if they fail the test they will not be transferred to further level. Therefore, they study hard and gain knowledge. Furthermore, testing the pupils is beneficial for teachers, because they help them to assess the knowledge and progress of each student. According to the results of exams teachers will recognize the straights and weaknesses of learners, then choose the programs and strategies to improve their level. Consequently, gained knowledge will help students for their further life. However, regular assessments can have excessive pressure on pupils. Pupils learn a big number of subjects in their school curriculum and having tests from each subject can be extremely stressful for them. Therefore, this can lead to health problems. Moreover, exams can be useless in some cases. Commonly, the main cause of preparing for exams is passing them. This means that gaining knowledge for own profit is not primary reason of learning the subject. For example, pupils learn and memorize the theory for good performance in exam, but then easily forget it. Subsequently, In conclusion, despite the fact that the exams can lead to depression and do not guarantee gaining necessary knowledge, their advantages are still greater. I strongly believe that exams lead children for better future and the best way for assessing their knowledge.
