Today's job environment has become very demanding and there is huge work pressure on an individual to perform.
There is a definite strive for money and synonym of success is promotion and salary growth. Each employee wants to outdo others with their hardwork and intelligence, associates are working for long hours in office ranging from 14-18 hours to achieve the same. This is very fruitful for the organization as this will lead to bumper growth in company's performance. On the contrary it's a kind of blind race which everyone is running not knowing what they are up to.
Though this is good in short run, in long run it can create pleothra of problems. This attitude toward goals achievement do not allow people to have joyous time with the family, friends and other acquaintances. Workers are also living near the office location to save commutation hours and meeting thier family only over weekends and holidays. This results in multifold mental stress and a number of health problems. For example, in last decade there had been a lot of cases of heart attacks at office.
Organizations across the world've also realized this and now they are making sure to bring balance in professional and personal life. For Example, there are mandatory holidays for employees and punitive actions if it's not taken care of. Workers also understood that they have to take a middle path and only "Work is Worship" is bad strategy.
Overall, it can be said that unnecessary slogging will yield no good and as a society now we understand the situation lot better than last decade.
