Many researches have undoubtedly shown the correlation between social media consumption and eating disorders since individuals, especially teenagers, tend to compare themselves to instagram and tiktok models or fitness instructors while endlessly scrolling down these apps. These analogies can cause unrealistic expectations about how our bodies should and shouldn’t look which often develops to unhealthy eating habits and eating disorders. However it’s important to realize that celebrities or models beforehand of posting on social media they usually edit their photos with filters or even with photoshop, consequently they create unattainable standards.
