The above table presents data on the reasons why people in the UK choose to go to art events for the past 20 years. The only reason which did not change much is going for the purpose of seeing a specific artist, and clearly, people still attend events for this reason today.
However, there is an increase in the number of people who attend art events to accompany children; nowadays 24% of people do so, while only 9% of people used to this 20 years ago. This increase implies that people are now more caring about keeping their children interested in arts in general.
Another trend the table shows is the fact that the number of people who attend art events for special occasions has decreased by more than half. While the percentage of people who did this was 27% twenty years ago, it is now 9%. On the other hand, people who attend such occasions for the purpose of work or business has nearly doubled.
