There is a common saying here in Delhi "One who has not seen Delhi has not lived the life", and being a hard-core Delhite, I strongly endorse this statement.
Delhi is the rainbow of India. It has something to offer for everyone. From the majestic Mughal gardens to the historical Qutub minar, From the grand presidential palace to old streets of Delhi-6, From Modern Khan market to chaotic Chandni Chowk, From Patriotic India gate to the renowned Delhi University. People should at least spend 4 days in Delhi to understand this beautiful city. Delhi is the absolute heaven for history-holic souls like me. Delhi has come a long way from being the Mughal capital city to the capital of the Republic of India, so without a doubt Delhi is rich in old and modern history. The next category of people are shopping freak and Delhi is a dream destination for shoppers. The latest fashion trends in Connaught Place to traditional trends in old Delhi, ultimate combination for shoppers. For the party lovers sorry to disappoint you but the party scene is not as good as in some other big cities of India.
Apart from these world-famous tourist spots you can experience the true spirit of Delhi in the street food. Undoubtedly, Delhi has the best street in India, and I'm saying this because I have been to multiple metro cities of India, but the variety I found in Delhi is unmatchable.
Being a capital city, people from all parts of the country come to Delhi for more exposure and job opportunities and Delhi never disappoints them and as a result of this Delhi is the home to 2 crore people and all of them are from different states, different religions, different cultures and speak different languages. In addition to this these people always engage locals and tourists in different events and activities like garba nights in navratri, bone fire during lohri and attending special events during holi and Diwali and of course one cannot leave Delhi without experiencing the fest of Delhi University.
A few pieces of advice I would like to give to tourists is that never ever get yourself in road rage in Delhi, Be attentive from pickpockets especially while commuting through local transport, avoid late night walks particularly in old Delhi, and never disrespect the local culture.
Words are not enough to describe this part of the Earth, I just want to say pack your bags and book your tickets to experience something out of this world. Delhi is full of surprises and full of experiences.
