Young adults are now choosing to wait until later in life, often until they are in their 30s, to settle down and get married. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this? PKW7w
Youngsters are now deciding to stay single until they are near or over the age of 30. The following essay will discuss both the merits and drawbacks of this tendency. To begin with, the main advantage of staying unmarried until later in life is that men and women can completely focus on building their careers. That is to say, a successful career demands time and attention, and if people get married in their early life, they will have responsibilities to fulfill, which could interrupt them from work. Therefore, people who are not married can dedicate their youth to step up the new heights of careers and social status. To be more specific, as per a recent survey, single young adults are 25% more successful in their professions than the people who are married in their 20’s. In terms of drawbacks, there are some prime examples of the repercussions of this trend. Firstly, people at the age of 30s tend to spend little time with their partners. It is obvious that going along with a lucrative income is a hefty workload they have to tackle. More seriously, they are engaged in raising money, to the point that they may omit the appearance of their loved ones, which could lead straight to break-offs, as the demands of being taken care of by their spouses aren’t satisfied. Furthermore, being snowed under with work also causes stress to both their mental and physical health. When people are under pressure, they become more withdrawn, distracted, less affectionate and may unintentionally hurt their companions, which can result in divorces. In conclusion, people’s tendency towards settling down and getting married in their 30s is a double-edged sword due to the positive and negative impacts I mentioned above.
