Some people think that girls should take husband’s name after marriage while others feel that they should not follow this age old tradition. What is your opinion?

All around the world, cultures approach this topic differently, Reason being their varied stance towards husband's heritage. Some find it to be the norm while for others it is irrelevant to go through the legal trouble. I will like to explore both instances before giving my opinion on the matter. Many societies, associate adopting your spouse's name with respect and affection, for instance India considers it the standard, most Indian women from a young age are conditioned to priortize marriage thereafter soon serve their future significant other with utmost respect. Moreover, it has been the case for centuries. In ancient times, queens were accustomed to change their name after their wedding, this practice is common in most South East Asian countries, as well as Islamic Republics. Despite the commonality of name changing, there are cultures who find it to be regressive, according to them women are on the pedastel as men, for them these things lead to disparity and inequality. For example South Korea, girls do not take change their name they priortise their own identity on the contrary, the couple tries to build a new distinctive life for themselves that compliments their relationship. Altogether both situations make perfect sense, furthermore this is about individual choice according to me than the cultural importance, females should be allowed to make the choice for themselves instead of conforming to societal pressure. To conclude I agree with both statements.
