Why do you you are a good match for DKU

The world without art is melancholy. But people tend to deny the fact that art is valuable and makes our life live when everything they touch and see is made of art. I’ve been seeing this situation since my childhood every time I tell someone my dream job. I have always intended to make changes to my society where most people reject our local artists. Starting from my family to my classmates and other people, I share my art and opinions to make them attracted to it. Sometimes I think ‘I am just a high school student who has a passion for the arts. Would I be able to contribute to society? ’ I wanted to grow big and influential and make changes to people’s perspectives. To make their life and perspective brighter and better, I want to share my creation and belief. Last year, on my school page I saw our senior students had offers from Duke Kunshan University and it caught my interest. It was exactly what I was dreaming for. In China, with an American education curriculum and perspective with international students. To be a more open-minded global citizen and learn and witness from the most influential countries in the world. As I searched the majors and classes, I liked the Media, Arts, and Critical Theory class the most. It explores the differences in new media and art media influences on society which I’ve been meaning to do in the future. As a prospective student at DKU, I would like to share my perspective with everyone and grow with them. Also, as someone who’s always been titled “mother” in class and friend circles, I can say I would bring a safe and welcoming environment to the DKU. Wouldn’t you want to have a student with a delightful soul with lots hidden and more to show to the world?
