The following map illustrates the growth of Ryemouth village from 1995 till date. The main point to note generally is the development of a previously green area as well as the introduction of more apartment buildings.
First of all, in 1995 the North-eastern and Eastern parts were mostly covered by the farmland and forest park. Also there were fewer housing units on either side of the main road that runs through the middle of Ryemouth. Another point to note is presence of the fishing part located behind the fish market with some shops found across the road between them.
However at present, the vegetation has been converted into a sporting complex with golf course and tennis courts. Whilst more housing units have been developed with the road extending westward. In contrast, there is no fishing port in the sea. Likewise, apartments have replaced the fish market that used to be there. Meanwhile restaurants now stand in place of shops all in the southern part of Ryemouth.
