The line graph compares the amount of enery used in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030
In general, we can see that fossil fuels usage in the USA is highest as compared to other energy resources over the period shown
In 1980, about 35 quadrillion units of petrol and oil was consumed. After rising for several years to around 40 quadrillion units in 2005 and the growth is likely to continue to climb to 50 quadrillion units in 2030. However, coal and natural gas was used with 16 quadrillion unitts and 20 quadrillion units respectively in 1980. During the period shown later, coal and natural gas fluctuated and until 2015 coal overtook natural gas as the secondary sourse of energy. In 2030 coal is predicted to increase to 30 quadrillion units and natural gas is also expected to rise to nearly 25 quadrillion units
In the same year 1980, nuclear, renewable energy were utilized around 4 quadrillion units each. Many years later, nuclear and solar/wind rose slighty and are estimated to reach 7 quadrilion units and 5 quadrillion units respectively. Only hydropower energy stayed relatively stable and it is projected to maintain this level until 2030.
