The Genuine Temporary Entrant

My decision to pursue an MBA at Torres University in Adelaide is an extension of my marketing and business career. I started a career as a marketing specialist in 2012, after receiving a degree in economics, graduating with honors from one of the oldest universities in Russia. Since 2012, I have been developing brand communications to increase LTV (Lifetime Value) and improve their unit economy, managing projects to increase the size of the loyal customer base for the largest brands in the Russian market, such as Delivery Club, Croc Incorporated, Utkonos, Mining Eurasia LLC. Starting from the position of a junior marketer, I always continued to develop my skillset, received various professional certificates (Product Management, CRM Marketing, Email Marketing, Graphic Design) and improved the English language, so years later I managed to obtain the position of Head of CRM Department in a company with 5. 5 million active monthly users. After getting such experience for 4 years, I decided to start working for myself and in 2021, despite the pandemic and market volatility, I received contracts and worked as a marketing consultant for large brands developing not only local markets, but also foreign ones (including Mining Eurasia, LLC). Therefore, in 2023, in order to continue my business career with major international brands and open my marketing agency, I feel the need to enhance my knowledge of team management, marketing, financial management and analytics to make business decisions, which are among the core subjects in the Torrens University MBA program, whose partners are the largest players in the global business area. So, having completed my MBA course at Torrens University, I will fill the gaps and prepare myself to start my own marketing agency. To choose the appropriate MBA, I compiled a shortlist of programs in different universities of the world and chose Australia, because the major factors for me were an immersion in the international business environment, value for money, an improving my English business language, as well as a local business community mindset which is friendly to international students. When choosing a university, I participated in online open days, had calls and direct communication with university graduates. The feedback and real-life experience of Torrens University MBA alumni confirmed my assumptions that this MBA program will help me open up my marketing agency upon returning home. Adelaide, where the campus is located, also won on the shortlist of cities, primarily because it is good for families and is called the city of 20 minutes, which means I can maintain an important balance between my family and developing my career and studies. During my studies, I plan to settle with my four-year-old son and spouse in apartments near the campus and kindergarten that my son would go to childcare during my studies. My family members and I have enough funds in our accounts to ensure a comfortable life in Adelaide, including childcare, rent, insurance and other family expenses. In addition to relying on existing savings, my husband Igor plans to continue to working remotely under his contract in the role of director of business development with a 5/2 schedule for his employer, with whom he has a long and strong relationship, dating back more than 16 years and having an office in Turkey, so we’d have a steady source of income thanks to him. After returning from Australia, Igor will continue to work in the Turkish office of the company, where all members of my family have a temporary residence permit. After the end of the program in Australia, we will return to Turkey, where we work and live at the moment, because in Turkey we have a strong support network of friends and family, a wonderful Mediterranean climate, the school we have chosen for our son, my spouse's workplace. Additionally, my colleagues with whom I plan to open my marketing agency live in Turkey. This is the kind of life and career path I have dreamed of and plan to put into practice in the coming years, so I am very encouraged by the studying of the MBA at Torrens University in Adelaide as the next step in developing my career path.
