CPUT Students long term vs short term life orientation

CPUT Students long term vs short term life orientation 7xaWX
Over the past years, it has been discussed to how educators, lecturers and adults in general could help prepare students for the future of work and the future of learning. There is so much happening when it comes to education and technology. Being focused on the present/past and condsidering them important no longer matters. During COVID it is to believe that many students were under pressure and frightened to what the future would be like, the government implemented certain rules which made a drastic change to many lives. Coming to terms with these implementation enabled one to delay short term material and social success in order to prepare for the future. According to recent statistics, a McKinsey report showed that by the year 2030, nearly 40% of the jobs that currently exist will be obsolete. Because we do not know exactly which jobs will exist, we must rely on trends that emerge from research and our own explorations and then provide the right opportunities for students to build their skills in a variety of ways. Based on research and trends, some of the most common skills needed and which have not changed much over the past 30 years are collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
