In times of technology, traditional books are considered less vital by some individuals. This essay would discuss both sides and I hold firm to the belief that this kind of book is still in demand in many occasions due to its reliability as well as suitability for a wide range of readers On the one hand, it is undoubted that electronic books are more convenient. This is because with the advance of technology, people have a tendency to use smart devices which can store a huge amount of database. For instance, there is an online app named Watpad which has numerous types of stories including comic or romantic stories. Moreover, E-books take up less space and are easier to carry around. Consequently, E-book readers save not only a massive deal of time to get what they want to read but also a great amount of money to buy printed books On the other hand, I advocate that traditional books have great values in daily life. First and foremost, almost all printed books have censored information. The reason is these books are censored by authority before coming out to the public. For instance, a number of academic documentaries are written by professional experts such as Philosophy of Marxism and Leninism. Therefore, printed books are more reliable and have the ability of holding the attention of academic readers, especially youngsters. Furthermore, traditional books are suitable for the technophobe. This is because some book lovers are the elderly, they are not able to use smart devices because of poor vision as well as short-term memory. There are also many readers who belong to the lower class so they do not have enough conditions to own smart equipment to access electronic books. Hence, traditional books would be the type which is acceptable for all ages as well as social class. It narrows not only the gap between the rich and the poor but also the generation gap. To sum up, although E-books have become more prevalent in society, I still believe that traditional books bring two main merits for readers, namely its convenience as well as the suitability for a wide range of readers.
