Some people think that zoos are cruel and that all zoos should be closed.Others think zoos are useful for protecting rare animals. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

In recent years, an increasing number of visitors go to zoos. While someone argue that it is cruel for animals to live in narrow places, others believe that it is beneficial for rare animals to be preserved. In this essay, I will both these points of view and give my own opinions. On one hand, some scholars point to the fact that animals often suffer in captivity. Wild animals should have lived in widen natural environment. However, they are caught in enclosures to provide paying customers with pleasure. As time goes by，their confinement will lead to something bad with behavior changes. The physical health of animals depends on their environments. However, zoos do not have abilities to provide real nature habitats. Animals does not need skills or adaptation to survive in the wild. Then, animals are under stress, and feel bored. what is more，Zookeepers cannot look after their emotion or neglect their healthcare needs. It may lead to a lack of mental health. As a result，they might die permaturely from stress or illness. Specific performance is like self-mutilation or drinking their urine. On the other hand, animals in a controlled environment may help endangered populations. In a relative good environment, animals will not be disturbed by predators, and they will be provided by high quality of food and required goods. Besides, to compared with wild animals, breed animals live longer because they can avoid drought, starvation, bullying, social ostracism. Then, their populations can multiply, restore and repair ecosystems in order to rescue animals in danger. In addition to this, zoo staff work oversea to improve skills as well as learn from some tech people with conservation projects. To conclude, it has both benefits and negatives. From my perspective, species in zoos are more likely to be subjected to mental or physical torture.
