Equality between men and women in the nation’s defense unit has been an endless argument since women's empowerment in India. Despite the fact women are biologically week, most people conceded the intervention of the female workforce is essential in police or military services. Others counter that only men have got the endurance and power to protect the nation. Personally, I opine on the former and relevant reasons will be discussed in the impending essay. One major reason for the reluctance of recruiting female counterparts in armed services like the military and police is the fact that women are physically weak in nature. Though men possess masculine physique and strength to combat against any violence, but they do lack in rational thinking and decision making in times of emergency. Also, it is scientifically proven that women are better at managing work-stress and handling tougher situations compared to men. As a result, they could comprehend the short-comings and come up with effective solutions irrespective of the threatening environment. Furthermore, several countries have witnessed the potential of feminism and utilized them in various armed forces. To exemplify this, the American defense, which has the largest military force in the world, has increased the number of female counterparts from 4 percent to 7 percent. This indicates that women have contributed efficaciously and proved to be a great resource for their army. However, some short-sighted people still adhere to the notion that women suit to be housewives, do household chores and take care of their families. To conclude, in a country like India, which aspires to be the strongest armed force in the future, discrimination against gender equality would certainly be a backlog for the country. Therefore, I strongly encourage the induction of female battalions to our country's defense force.
