In recent times, there has been a controversy about whether violence on television and in computer games brings negative aspects on the society or not. From my point of view, I do think both views are reasonable as each has its own merits. On the one hand, I think violence in movies or digital games would have positive effects on the audience or players. To begin with, with the development of technology, social media platforms and computer games have become more and more popular nowadays, especially with youngsters. One of these games can help people to improve their soft skills in the real world. For example, PUBG is a violent game, whose rule is to kill all your competitors to win. Since this game has made use of networking, which allows gamers to hide and attack rivals. This means that they can improve their reflex skills from observing and predicting the situation that could happen in the game. However, exposure to the internet or online games can cause damaging effects. Individuals who watch more violent videos frequently are less sympathetic and insensitive with people around them. The reason for this phenomenon is that they become desensitized to violence over time. For instance, in digital games, people have state-of-the-art weapons and great power, which allows them to destroy whatever they want. Therefore, they become more insensitive when they see violence. In conclusion, violence on the internet will have its shortcomings to our life if we do not have the right approach. In my view, parents should take care of their children and teach them how to use and watch violence videos in the correct usage. In that way, people can develop in the right direction.
