Monuments and beautiful buildings of our past are cultural heritage we have received from our ancestors and it is a reminder of their art and sculpture level and effort done to build those buildings, in absence of modern earth-moving equipment. Therefore, it is vital to look after and guard those beautiful buildings of the past whether it is costly for countries or not. I agree with, the above-mentioned statement and will elaborate my view in the next paragraphs.
Buildings of the early era are elegance and unique in their category and in past they have been created by investing huge money and manpower and used best available material resources of the time, so maintaining them is the duty of present governments and citizens, as without, maintenance that precious cultural heritage will be lost. Additionally, governments can use those buildings like museums or art galleries without altering their structure or damaging the building, such incorporation of buildings will generate some revenue which in fact will make taking care of monuments cheaper for governments.
On the other hand, these are costly jewels of the past and taking care of those jewels will be costly so, people and governments should direct their resources accordingly or use those buildings in a way that they can be self-sufficient. If keeping jewellery is costly it does not mean that we should not take care of it. In, India the historic building Taj-mahal demands above-average money and manpower but the Indian government still keeping it.
In final say, those beautiful buildings are 'Gems' of our past and we should maintain and protect them with all our abilities.
