Progress Happens too Slowly to Notice, but Setbacks Happen too Quickly to Ignore, oDbQD
The only thing I like doing since my childhood was playing football, but my family’s dreams for me were completely distinct. My dream occupation was chosen without my concern I mean not like totally but yeah, they asked me about it but due to the fear of letting them down, I didn’t say anything that would disappoint them, Afterall, for an 8th class student dealing with this situation wouldn’t have been easy right. YUP, THAT’S HOW ALL THIS STARTED. Idk if you know this or not but Indian parents fucking love to brag about their child’s academic achievements after all that’s their only way to measure their child’s. A teenager choosing to be a doctor would be considered more successful than another teenager of the same age, applying for something like a commerce, or humanities course. Your success is measured in the choice of career path and not what you do in it. Parents should understand that no wonder medicine is a noble profession, but there are other respectable jobs as well. Whatsoever, back to my story, After they choose my career goal they didn’t stop, no parent what their kid to be unsuccessful right so, they decided I should quit normal school and do integrated coaching as that would bring down my exposure with everything except studying as I CHOOSE MEDICAL RIGHT, SHIT LOAD OF STUDY SHEESH. TBH yeah it worked, I got less time for myself so automatically less football, but the motive of the integrated program that the child will fully be focused on studies didn’t work pretty well, as I got not so good teachers at NARAYANA (oh right, Narayana was the coaching center that mouse trapped my parents so I was required to attend it. No hard feelings) I group up with friends that were good at subjects that I was not so good at, TBH I was mediocre in everything, a 75% scorer ever since I can remember. Our class was full of kids from Bihar, therefore resulting in my physics improvement. We got a chemistry teacher, a very good I must add. But then there was our biology teacher VISHAL sir, whose teaching resulted in my loss of faith in biology. I won’t be disrespecting my teacher so yeah not saying anything more about him. After 2 years of coaching, it was time for the exam, or I should say trial, 10th boards exams took place I did well, as per my belief. After a month or so came the result popping the bubble of my parent’s dreams, I scored something around 70%, which I was not so proud of. My parents for some reason only see their reputation and pain whenever I fuck up something. I scored 70% which is shit and not too good but still better than failing right? but yeah, their kingdom of glass received its first stone hit, the kingdom fell apart, disorder raised! I was almost disowned, not supported by my parents I felt worthless. And then came the question again, “TEREKO KARNA KYA HAI APNE JEEVAN ME? KUCH KARNA BHI HAI YA REDHI CHLAEGA? ! ” and again they decided between themselves that he won’t be able to do medicine so let him pursue humanities where he can do anything he wants. Due to the fear of getting disowned by your only ones you answer the question in a way that satisfies their anger and eases the pain of fallen reputation. I CHOOSE TO STUDY MEDICINE FOR THE FIRST TIME! And again, joined the same fucking mouse trap! Yeah NARAYANA! 11th and 12th were even worse, physics teacher was bad and this time I didn’t have any friend who can help me with it as the whole batch of 11th was filled with children who weren’t able to get the medical stream in regular schools due to their low scores. chemistry teacher was biased, looks after the girls only but this time we got the best biology teacher ever, TARUN SIR, he teaching method restored my faith in biology, but you know this right NOTHING LAST FOREVER, during midyear of 12th, the administration of NARAYANA had a major fight resulting in our biology and chemistry teachers leaving, and impacting other subject teachers too. We got a new chem teacher, he was good but don’t explain things the easy way and had some issues with our old teacher, so made us do new notes from the beginning there for speeding the syllabus way to must just to completed it on time, and the biology class was again given to VISHAL sir, shit happens no doubt! Our physics sir also stopped showing interest in teaching and let us do what we want in his period, we try to study on our own but you a weak student is always dependent on his teachers that was me. Overall, during the last 5-6 months, Narayana was on fire, nothing was happening!
