The bar chart gives information about common films according to genre for male and female followers. Meanwhile, the pie chart compares ticket sales for different kinds of film in the USA in 2010.
Overall, the column graph shows how many males and females were interested in films, while the pie chart highlights the amount of popularity of different types of films.
In 2010, action film was the most popular among men at 40 and took the lead compared to its counterparts; in the meantime, romantic comedy was widely accepted by women at 30, and followed by action movies at 25, in the USA. Regarding comedy, it was half as popular as action films for both males and females. The equal rate can be seen in western films in terms of either men’s or women’s interest. Considering romantic comedy the figure for boys was nowhere near as girls’.
Regarding Box office takings, in the USA, action movies contributed to 49% of overall ticket sales. 24% of ticket sales income was gained by comedy film followers. Romantic and thriller films took the third and fourth place with 12% and 10%, in turn. Other type of films equaled to 5%.
