In the competitive job market existing in today's world there are many options for the people searching for a job to choose from. The option choosen by the people depends on the qualifications they have and their likes and dislikes. Employers who recruit employees to their companies have to select the best matching persons for the position they are offering, in order to gain the maximum advantages for the company. The mostly used method for selecting employers for a job position is the interview method. The interview method which applies for selecting employees for a job position has many advantages when considering today's competitive job market. When considering the time of an interview, the interviewee is under a certain stress level no matter how better he has practiced for the interview. The ability to work under stress is an important aspect to have for any employee in any job category due to high competition in job markets. On the other hand interviews are practical which can measure how practical the person is. Because today's jobs seem to be more practical than in the past years. Also interviews are a method of measuring the interpersonal skills of the person being interviewed. Because the interpersonal skills are very important for keeping a heigher position in every job field, it is important when selecting a person to a certain position in a company. There can be some alternatives for selection of employers to companies like by application forms, aptitude tests, group tasks, presentations and role-playing tasks. But the advantages of interviews overlay the other alternative methods. Some suggestions for improving the quality of an interview are by making them more practical. As a summation, the best method for selection of people for positions in companies can still be properly held interviews.
