It is said that people who read books with preasure have more developed imaginations and better language skills than people who like watching TV. Agree or disagree? MbmNL
Some believe that reading helps with the imaginative development and language skills of our brain than those who likes to watch television. I agree on the said argument on a large degree with explanations provided on this essay.
In this day and age, our younger generations are more focused on what technology has to offer like cartoon shows and online gaming. According to an article, numerous children are addicted to watching televisions rather than reading some book which resulted to the decline of our children's knowledge to things such as their studies. Besides the decrease of their mental knowledge, their overall physical health is also affected negatively. For example, exposure to radiations from gadgets, though it maybe low but with consistent use, will cause them to ruin their eyesight. Based on my own experience, due to the fact that I used my phone everyday especially at night have lead me to have my eyes check because it was very dry. As a consequence, I was given prescription glasses at a young age.
On the other hand, books have a plethora of advantages. Firstly, those that read novels have immense imaginations to situations based on what they are reading. Secondly, it improves literacy. For instance, if english is not your first language and you want to improve it, you should start by reading english books and newspaper daily. Lastly, it helps with your concentration and ability to focus.
In conclusion, reading books have a number of benefits for our children's brain activities while technology has lead today's generation ashtray. Given the above situation, it is recommended that parents should limit the use of this technologies until they are responsible enough.
