Nowadays in most nations, women have the permissions to take a break when they gave birth to the baby. In my opinion, maternity policies make a negative effect on companies as well as workload raises but also have some benefits. On the one hand, there are various drawbacks. Firstly, maternity policies make a negative impact on both companies and employees. By giving maternity leaves, companies need to adjust their staff by rising their work time. Secondly, it affects directly on the workload of other employees its sudden increases. For example, in certain companies, it works on a team of 3-4 persons but if one person is on leave for 6 months period then it impacts other workers. Thirdly, leaving for a long duration makes obstacles for career progression. For getting promotions, workers need to spend more time in the company and solve different problems. On the other hand, we have to consider some benefits also. To begin with, women take adequate time to recover from childbirth. While taking a break from office the health of women becomes better. Childbirth affects mentally as well as physically to women. Moreover, it benefits newborn babies to spend time with their mothers. Due to spending time with the baby, improvement in child development. In addition, helps in motivating employees. From family members, giving a child gives motivation to the women. It helps in their mental health. In conclusion, in my opinion, many cons are there but the major effect on the health of the mother, a new baby born have time to spend with their mother and gets motivation from family.
