The older generations tend to have very traditional ideas about how people should live, think and behave. However, some people believe that these ideas are not helpful in preparing younger generations for modern life. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?

In the contemporary world, there is a conflict between adults and the young. The old argue that new generations should obey customs and move regarding this, while young people think that old-fashioned traditions are not suitable for modern living conditions and do not shape the future. My opinion on the matter is that the young should not underestimate the vision of older people, yet they should not be strictly bonded with them. On the one hand, it is certainly true that older people have more life experience and overcome more challenges than the young. I believe that younger people should consult their older relatives and try to reap the benefit of their accumulation of life when they encounter a difficult situation. In addition, traditional activities contribute to family relationships positively. For instance, people share a huge family dinner and get together on religious holidays and have a chance to spend time with their families in a lovely atmosphere. On the other hand, our world is rapidly changing and it is so hard to keep up with this with obsolete ideas. For example, according to some older people, technological devices are so redundant and make people more addicted to the internet. However, I think this is a quite narrow perspective since the advent of technology provides a plethora number of conveniences such as easily accessing information in a matter of a minute. Moreover, traditions can also mutate. To illustrate, people used to believe that they can cause rain by singing a song and it was a tradition in some tribes in the past. However, people do not do this since they are aware of it is not possible. In conclusion, my opinion on the matter is that new generations should not underestimate the notion of their elders, but they should not allow traditional ideas to eclipse the necessities of modern life. It should be kept in mind that not only our world but also traditions are undergone a change.
