One of my dreams is to become a health practitioner working for the community. As a graduate of a public health degree with a concentration in epidemiology, I believe and believe that with my educational background I am able to work for the community and play an active role in improving the health of the community where I live, Medan City and Indonesia. Such as participating in health research using an epidemiological approach and participating in the creation of disease prevention and control programs. However, I also realized that I needed a lot of knowledge, knowledge, and experience before going into society and participating in improving health in the community.
Gaining advanced skills in epidemiology and biostatistics will help me contribute to improving public health and increasing life expectancy. In addition, learning outcomes from epidemiology courses will improve skills to identify and prioritize problems in health research and practice. These are the skills I need to contribute to making health research and participating in disease prevention and control programming. Hopefully, my contribution will have a positive impact on my workplace in the future and for the community at large.
Another important aspect besides capacity building is networking. During my time as a master's student, recipients of both ASS and AAS scholarships I will meet and share with international health practitioners and professionals who have experience in the fields of epidemiology and public health. This will give me a broad look at public health. this is an aspect that will be of use to me in developing public health programs.
