Exam topic (5) Why do you think the art of writing letters is dying nowadays? BWPyd
Ever since technologies develop at this rapid rate as in the 21st century, people got used to these new fancy means of communication, we can hop in our phone and write to another person in a matter of seconds, we don't have to sit down take our pen to take a piece of paper and thoughtfully express our feelings and ideas and after all that spend our time sending the letter and waiting for the response.
Unfortunately, in some way, we got more stupid and lazy, we take our chats for granted, and indeed don't spend as much time as we would writing a letter, think how to structure our thought so it could be understandable, we don't have respect for the person that reads it. We keep sending these messages and emojis. I think there is nothing to it. We rely on technology too much. For me, voice messages are the worst, and they piss me off slightly. I think that, if a person I'm having a conversation with finds time to read my messages, could write me back and not insult me with a voice message that badly captures speech and greatly picks up street noises. It seems to me that if people had written a few letters to each other, it would be helpful for them to understand themselves better.
Overall, society's mindset and abundance of technology in our daily life lead us to the extinction of writing letters. At least those are the reasons I found straight away.
