whether the retirement age must change according to occupation or not
whether the retirement age must change according to occupation or not y13
Considering that retirement age effects both people and government severely, the discussions for whether it should be standard for everybody or change according to ones occupation have been going on for a long time. While, some people believe that equality requires having the same requirement age for all people, others declares that for this situation equality does not mean justice. And I also think that retirement age must be adjustable for certain jobs.
Although there are no such thing as effortles work or easy money, and everybody have to try a lot to make a living. I feel that in their nature, some career paths require more physical and mental dedication and commitment than other jobs. For instance, there is a term called occupational diseases, which describes health problems that is caused by a persons work. These diseases are mostly seen in miners, factory workers, or people working with chemicals. Furthermore, workers like doctors, polices ans soldiers are putting their lifes at risk every single day for the good of others. Since these occupations, miners, firefighter, medical workers, and security forces are devoting to much for society their effort must at least be met with early retirement age.
On the other hand, it is understandable that all job matters equally for the persistence of society. While engineers or teachers have relatively more comfortable work environments, it does not mean they put less effort than other people. Engineers have been designing and creating lots of innovations that increases life quality for everyone, while teachers are spending their time with future generations shaping the future of nations and the world. Hence, occupations with less physical or mental stress are not actually simpler at all and it is acceptable that they demand equal conditions for retirement.
In conclusion, both parties have reasonable explanation and motives at their part. All occupations offers contribituions to different parts of a societies construction. Still, I believe some workers are under a lot of pressure because of their job. This pressure could affect their health and their life outside work severely, thus I think the best solution is to decide on changable age standards in retirement for different occupations.
