The parcel had been found solitary, lying on the front porch, overlooking the enormous sycamore tree, the leaves of which were now sparkling in gold. None of us had been expecting a parcel, not at least one that did not bear an address.
Luke, who was a young boy of 14, was the first to discover this queer worn-out box, which has been the cause of our apprehension for the last 20 minutes or so.
