However, there are some radical measures that the government and each individual can take to diminish the production and disposal of the rubbish. To begin with, I think the most obvious solution is for the government to adopt strict laws to force some enterprises and businesses not to produce non-degradable products as the non-decomposing state is the main reason for the waste problem. Take TH Group, a dairy company, as an example, they use compostable straws made from environmentally friendly materials like corn and potato instead of using common plastic ones for straw production. By doing this, they have made a huge contribution to combating problems related to waste. Moreover, the authorities should also raise the awareness of their residents by educating or organizing some programs about the severity of the waste issues to call for the need for reusing and recycling in the country. A further step is for each individual to be self-aware of the seriousness of the waste problem and act immediately to tackle it. First, people should recycle plastic appliances such as plastic bottles and plastic straws because these materials are difficult to decompose, and once thrown away, they easily pollute the environment. For example, the young in Nigeria recycle plastic materials by collecting the plastic waste on the street in their neighborhood and converting it into art. This would help to reduce plastic waste and therefore, it plays a crucial role in alleviating the problem associated with waste disposal. Furthermore, people should also need to reuse products including old food scraps, old CDs, or even egg cartons rather than throwing them away. This is because they are all the things that can be reused a second time and thus, we do not have to buy more of those things as well as release any rubbish into the environment.
