In recent times, there is no doubt that traveling has played a vital role in the development of many parts of the world. However, whether this direction brings about more merits than drawbacks remains a debatable issue. On the one hand, some people believe tourism has undeniable beneficial effects on local societies. It is statistically reported that the economic growth rate in regional communities has dramatically stimulated thanks to the contribution of travel. To exemplify, domestic economics gains huge profits from potential customers through business services and entertainment. As a result, dwellers have more opportunities to take jobs, thus simultaneously reducing the unemployment rate and enhancing the living conditions. Another benefit is the development of tourism can foster the vision of a local area. The outsiders may check in at beautiful sceneries and post their photos on media networks; therefore, tourist destinations will be more prominent and attract more visitors. On the other hand, opponents of the tourism industry claim that this trend might exert several demerits for several reasons. Firstly, the travel market has worsened the environmental damage with risks, such as pollution and the loss of natural habitats. Specifically, it results in more carbon footprints on a global scale. More approachable international travel has triggered more consumed fossil fuels and released exhaust fumes into the atmosphere. Secondly, regional culture can be adversely affected by foreign ones. Residents may lose their standard style if they pursue foreign habits, including tattooing, piercing, and shortened fabric fashion. To recapitulate, it is fair to say that the tourism enterprise has advantages and disadvantages. Nevertheless, I am convinced that the merits outweigh the demerits.
