In modern world, governments in many countries spend lot of money in celebrating festivals like national days and other big festivals of society. Some people think that government should spend less in such things and use this money in other useful things. My opinions on this points are discussed in this essay.
To commence with the given statement, it is true that governments are spending more money in celebrating functions. For example, in India government invest lot of money in the celebrations of Independence Day and republic day. They host flag hosting programme on the Red fort of Delhi. In that ceremony lot of big personalities are present and government spend corers of money in their security. Also in Gujarat, government celebrate kite festival in the white run of the Kutch and spend a lot in it. In my opinion, I’m totally agree with the view that government should spend less in such celebrations.
Giving reasons to show my agreement, there are lot of public things which is needed improvement in country. For instance, public transportation like trains and buses are now old fashioned and needed much more advanced facilities in it. Also, in some ruler areas of country there is no medical facility available. Hence, it is better to spend money in such things. Moreover, there are lot of people who are under poverty line our country. Due to their poverty they are not able to buy things for celebration of festivals. For example, high rates of crackers and sweets in Diwali is not affordable for everyone. Therefore, government should give such things to poor people in free or in very cheap cost. As a result everybody in the country can be able to celebrate their festivals with joy.
In conclusion it can be said that, instead of spending money on big celebrations of festivals, government should invest money in improving essential facilities and also they can spread happiness in poor families by helping them financially in fastivals.
