Any person that lives in the late 20th century has witnessed a baby boom that has led the global population to reach recording levels. Consequently, besides economical and social issues, numerous environmental problems have occurred and drawn much attention from both governments and most of the planet’s citizens. To begin with, there are several possible reasons leading to the overcrowded population all over the world. The first and foremost reason names the lack of education, especially among women. Indeed, studies show that the women who are not enrolled in schools, especially in rural areas usually have more children, about four or five on average. In addition, the advanced development in medicine and technology is also believed one main factor creating the dramatic overpopulation. This can be seen clearly in developed countries where there are numerous high-tech medical facilities and inventions the decline in mortality rate creates an unbalance between the birth rate and death rate. Consequently, this becomes a starting point of overpopulation. Additionally, other factors resulting in the uncontrollable growth in the population are the lack of family planning, poverty, and agricultural revolution respectively. However, the issue can be solved effectively by applying some measures. First and foremost, the government should pay much more attention and investment in campaigns to empower women. Studies have shown that women accessing higher education and working environment tend to have fewer children, about one or two on average. Then, population-related issues such as “responsible parenthood” or “ knowledge of sex education” should be carefully arranged and addressed at primary or secondary schools. Finally, the limited number of child legalization is not a bad choice to encourage and force citizens only should have one or two children at the most. All in all, the dramatic increase in the global population has been a certain result of the different reasons mentioned above. Therefore, some vital solutions should be taken into account thoughtfully and patiently by politicians and all of society in order to raise awareness of birth control and environmental protection in the communities.
