The bar chart shows the distribution of two genders in seven art-related subjects
at a UK university in 2011.
From the outset there is an eye-catching advantage in female students in over a
half of subjects. Females outnumber their male counterparts in linguistics,
english and literature, philosophy, history and archeology and communications.
The most engaging subject is english language and literature with a number of
applicants of 250 females, while history and archeology is the least occupied
with the rate of only 110 female students. Women considerably are drawn to
language-based subjects more than male however the difference between male
and female enrollment is marginally.
On the other hand, male students fell a close second in nearly every subject,
with the exception of art and design where they surpass women by about 10
enrollments. The least wanted subject by this group is philosophy when female
students have the majority with the ratio of 1/3.
