The table shows the sales figures of Fairtrade-labelled coffee and banana in five countries, namely, U. K, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium and Sweden in the years 1999 and 2004. P5NbJ
These tables indicate sales statistics for coffee and bananas between five countries of the European Union from 1999 to 2004. Overall, we realize from the first chart that coffee sales were more than in other countries in Switzerland in 1999. However, this ranking changed in 2004 and UK turned to the country that allocated the first place. The second table presents that Switzerland made more profit rather than other countries by selling bananas in 1999 and it preserved its position as a well-known country in this realm in 2004. According to the first table, the sales amount of coffee were three million euros in Switzerland, almost twice greater than UK and Denmark in 1999. This situation varied in 2004 in a way that the remarkable growth took place in UK sales and it reached 20 million euros, ten times greater than the year 1999. Concerning the second chart, it shows a large gap between the selling rates of Switzerland and Denmark in 1999 such that Switzerland sold seven times more bananas than Denmark. Just like the year 1999, Switzerland still placed at the top of the table with 47 million euros while the UK took second place with 5. 5 million euros sold in 2004.
