Overall, energy consumption was mainly relied on oil, coal and gas as a source of energy, while coal was the major fuel used to generate electricity around the world. it is worth noting that combustible renewables and waste was not used to produce electricity during the last year.
Regarding the net energy consumption, Oil was the largest contributor with 34. 3% followed by both coal and gas 25. 1% and 20. 9%, respectively. Other sources almost formed the quarter of energy consumption last year.
Regarding generated electricity last year, the primary source was coal with 39. 8%, while gas, hydropower, and nuclear power almost contributed to the half of the electricity generated in the globe with 19. 6%, 16. 1%, and 15. 7%, respectively. Meanwhile, other sources including oil contributed in 8. 8%. By contrast, the oil was the greater contributor in the consumed energy.
