The presented line graph exemplifies the number of UK adolescents abstaining from meat and trying to be vegetarains in their daily lives throughtout the different periods of time.
As it is observed, vegetarianism prevalented in the UK from 1960 to 1980 while there were several fluctuations between 1990 and 2000. Thereafter, people seemed to be interested in vegetarianism in the 20's.
Since 1960, there was a dramatic increase in the percentage of UK adolescents adhering to vegetarianism until 1980 when it peaked at 15%. However, the rate started to fall significantly again till 1990. After encountering some fluctuations between 1990 and 2000, the vegetarian rate started to rise noticably throughout the years until it levelled off at around 10% in 2020.
Overall, it is clear that the number of vegetarians kept increasing even though it had faced several decreases and fluctuations in the past. Nevertheless, it is undeniable that there were still adolescents in the UK considered themselves as vegetarians.
