Overall, the striking feature of the chart is that, the majority of the people in Canada uses English as their native language and it shows a downward trend in between 1996 and 2016. Moving further, the least prefered is non-official languages, whilst it increased slightly throughout the particular period.
Firstly, In 1996, almost 60% of the Canadian citizens were English speakers, whereas the other language speakers were about 17% and 23% respectively.
