The first automotive was introduced to the UK in 1888. By 2000, there were possibly about 29 million automobiles on the road. Some people believe that worldwide regulations should be enforced to control vehicle ownership and usage. Therefore, other modes of transportation should be supported. I solemnly accept the fact as pollution and traffic jams are the main concerns in the recent years In some countries, some regulations about vehicle usage and ownership are enforced in many ways. For instance, in Japan, having a garage with a place of residence is compulsory for car ownership, and according to some resources, automobiles that are sold in Japan are pricier than those that are sold in other countries. As a result, people are demotivated for having a private vehicle and rather take alternative modes of transport. Another example is seen in Singapore, one of the countries that have laws in vehicle emission control. Many developed countries also offered alternative modes of transport for the public. Generally, the bus and the subway are the most common modes of transport in some countries such as Singapore, Japan, and the United States. The fees are usually affordable and as a result, people are motivated to use these as they are more reliable and some may regard this as a money-saving option. However, this is a problem in some developing countries as there are not enough facilities to accommodate people to use public transport, thus more private cars are seen and yet, traffic jams and pollutions worsened. To conclude, worldwide regulations of transport should be enforced, especially in terms of emission control and house ownership. Public transport should also be introduced to all countries worldwide along with demanding facilities.
