Some people think that there are things individuals can do to help prevent global climate change. Others believe that action by individuals is useless and irrelevant and that it is only governments and large businesses which can make a difference.

There are always some arguments about whether individuals play a significant role in preventing global climate change. Some people believe that everyone should involve in preventing global warming, others assert that the actions and behaviors of individuals are meaningless. However, there is no doubt that everyone can make a difference in the face of global warming. Several reasons can explain the second point of view. Individuals’ protection of environment behaviors are relatively tiny, compared with legislation by government and contributions on environment by organizations. In addition, individual behaviors are not likely to make a substantial change in preventing a global change in the short term. On the contrary, authorities can enact relevant environmental protection laws that limit emissions or restrict the number of private cars on the streets. The organizations can depend on their advanced technology, use renewable energy such as solar, wind and water power. I believe that everyone plays an important role in protecting our environment. First of all, citizens can recycle and reuse out of fashion equipments and appliances, which greatly save energy and raw materials. Secondly, citizens also can choose public transportations rather than private vehicles, which lead to fewer exhaust fumes emissions. Last but not least, people avoid over-packaged commodities, with less wasters dealt with. What is more, disposable products, which result from a bundle of litter and rubbish, are disproved by the public. In conclusion, no matter maga organizations such as government and corporations or individuals, everyone can make a difference on the protecting environment and preventing the degradation of global warming
