The bar chart illustrate the outcomes of a survey of 1000 teenagers in five distinct nations around the world in which they were asked about the most appropriate age for three key rights and responsibilities to be given to the youngsters. Overall, adolescents surveyed have different views on the right age for marriage, voting and criminal responsibility. As can be seen from the chart, Japanese believed that they should not marry until they are in the twentites, while people in the other four countries including USA, the UK, Mexico and Egypt opined that this age should be under 20. In terms of voting right, citizens in Japan chose 20 to be the suitable age. Americans and Egyptians wanted their voting age between 17 and 18, whereas 16 was identified as the age at which individual could vote in the UK and Mexico. Coincidently, all five nations survey set their preferred age of criminal responsibility at a lower age than that of marriage and voting. Teenagers in Japan agreed that criminal responsibilities should be granted within 18 years old; respondents in the UK and Mexico considered 15 to be the age that people should be held responsible for their crimes, however. Americans and Egyptians gave their opinion that citizens should be charged by the law for committing any crimes when they reach the age of 14 and 12 respectively.
