Teen drama books - are they worth to be part of literature?

Literature has always been one of the most popular forms of art because of its ability to describe or creating a new and incredible world by using words as well as sentences. But nowadays the social media and television are more popular than books. What is new teen drama books can bring to literature and can it make literature be the first again? In my opinion, teen dramas are an independent literature genre, because it has its own form and even archetypes. Usually the main character is a young boy or a girl who struggles with school and love life, but in the end manages to find happiness. The reader tries to connect with characters, they try to find answers for their questions by following the characters line. Secondly, there is another subgenre where the main character finds out his or her super powers. First part of that kind of a novel usually revolves around main characters journey from being an usual person. By the end of the novel that person becomes hero. Is that kind of plot are bad? I think, not. It makes teenagers feel like a superhero. It also helps to escape from the real world, which most teenagers are yearning to. Finally, teen dramas are great way to introduce a literature to the younger generation. After reading a couple of this books, readers are getting tired of cliche story lines, so they research for more diverse and unusual content. This way, they search a way to the classics. That is why I think that teen drama books are important.
