It is clear that food, drinks and tobacco category has the largest proportion of consumer spending in each country. Furthermore, the lowest percentage of national consumer expenditure went on the leisure/education services.
In Turkey, 32. 14% of total consumer spending went on food, drinks and tobacco, which was the highest between five countries, in Irealand at nearly 29%, which was the second highest. The percentage of leisure and education was highest in Turkey, at 4. 35%, while expenditure on clothing and footwear were noticeably higher in Italy at 9 %, than in any of the other countries.
On the other hand, the proportion of spending on food/drinks/tobacco and clothing/footwear was the lowest in Sweden, at nearly 15. 77% and just over 5. 40% considerably. Spain had gradually higher percentage for these categories, but the lowest percentage for leisure and education, at nearly 2%.
