Studying at Refugee Studies Center
Studying at Refugee Studies Center N6Ylg
As a Syrian refugee living in Turkey, I have suffered from the unmatured policies which deal with the Syrian refugee cases under temporary protection. I found myself compelled to take an interest in refugee issues, and read the laws, information, and studies that were done to know my rights and responsibilities, and this knowledge was new to me.
Although my academic background is different, working in journalism, then researching within Syrian research centers, after numerous training, helped me mature my research skills, so I have written many papers and reports, including 13 papers that study the Syrian refugee issues in Turkey, many of them have been translated into Turkish or English.

For nearly a year, I have been trying to win a scholarship that will help me develop my experience with an academic study and allow me to take my studies to a new level, and this training course can give me the baizes about the multidisciplinary foundations of refugee studies inspired by the MA in Refugee Studies and Forced Migration, especially in the subjects of history, anthropology, politics, philosophy, law and gender studies.
I think this experience is a very valuable opportunity for me to obtain a different type of education, and it will give me the chance to learn from others' experiences and build a new network which will be a great gain for me.
Studying at Refugee Studies Centre, and Oxford University will be an important addition to my career due to the high reputation and quality of their reports and studies.
